2009.04.28 - PEGC Extra ========================= PRO BONO REPRESENTATION WANTED It's been a long time since I felt the need to waste time asking this question, but things have developed considerably in the interval, so I'm going to ask it again just in case someone might be ready to say YES or know someone who is... PEGC needs an attorney to act pro bono as my Counsel of Record for a new PEGC Amicus Brief in the US District Court for the District of Columbia, and possibly for follow-up briefs in the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court as well. The exact role will be subject to mutual agreement and interest -- I can write the briefs myself, but open to amicable collaboration as well. There will be some actual work involved initially, a simple but not exactly pro forma motion over and above the normal motion for leave to file an amicus. I don't know what else to say except I think my previous briefs actually did do some good, and I sincerely believe that the DDC needs the brief I want to submit. That's a pretty uppity thing for a self-educated layman to say, but I've been fully immersed in the issues of these cases for seven and a half years now, and meaning no offense to all the fine attorneys who are involved in them, I think I've pretty much been out in front on the issues the whole way. It's a perspective thing... I'm a systems analyst by training and long experience, and this is one of those situations where getting outside the box has huge advantages and benefits. The big picture matters. So if anyone is interested, please get in touch ASAP. My previous amicus briefs and other PEGC documents are available here: http://www.pegc.us/pegc_docs.html Charles B.
