1) QASSIM HEARING SET FOR AUGUST 25, 2005

US District Judge James Robertson today issued a memorandum order setting a
hearing for next Thursday (2005.08.25) in the case of two Uighur detainees whom
the government has found to be "No Longer Enemy Combatants" yet continues to
imprison at Guantanamo Bay. 

The the purpose of the hearing is to consider "the conditions in which the
petitioners are [to] live, and the privileges they will have, pending their
relocation to another country." Judge Roberstson further ordered "that the
government be prepared at the time of that hearing to make appropriate
disclosures to the Court in camera augmenting the declaration of Pierre-Richard
Prosper concerning the process and status of efforts to relocate the
petitioners."
