1) Habeas Case Notes:

* OK, I caught up on my sleep a bit and checked the rules: respondent has 35
days from the date of petitioner's brief on the merits to file a response, USSC
Rule 26(2). That means the responses in Al Odah and Rasul are due by February
18th (Legal Times says February 17th in the article below). ???

* Donna Newman and Andrew Patel filed a response opposing the government's
motion for stay in the Padilla case with the 2nd Circuit yesterday (2004.01.20).
