1) Gherebi v. Bush:

MORE good news --  a second big victory in a habeas appeal: the 9th Circuit just
handed down a 2-1 decision in the Gherebi case that turned on the lights inside
the black hole -- the court struck down the government's Eisentrager arguments
and stood up for the Geneva Conventions.

2) SALIM AHMED HAMDAN of Yemen has been identified as the fourth POW of the
designated "Military Commission" six:


WASHINGTON (AP) - The Pentagon has appointed a military defense lawyer for
another terrorism suspect held at the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, naval base, the
Defense Department announced Thursday.

Salim Ahmed Hamdan of Yemen becomes the second Guantanamo prisoner to be given a
lawyer...
